20 - 21 July 2023
Bengaluru, India

Press Release 28 October 2019

See the Latest in Fabric & Accessories at ASW 2020

The Apparel Sourcing Week is aimed at being a comprehensive sourcing platform for the region with India being the nerve centre. And in today’s fast-paced and constantly evolving fashion scenario, every peg in the fashion chain plays an important role in creating a unique garment that attracts the end-customer, who has choices aplenty.
Buyers are no longer isolated from ground realities in various manufacturing destinations. They not only understand the strength of each country, but also their weaknesses and challenges. In this difficult market scenario, finding the right partner, both from the manufacturing and retail perspective requires much more than market understanding.
A platform curated on the three pillars of opportunity, knowledge and inspiration, ASW, India has emerged as a credible trade show for informed sourcing from the South Asian region. The idea behind the concept is not to promote countries as individual players, but look at the region as a solution for all apparel sourcing needs.
Though India has a huge and growing fashion retail market, the country does not have an international sourcing event that covers the needs of major retail markets, including India. The first edition of ASW, held in March 2019 in Bengaluru, was primarily focused on the Indian apparel retail market, yet it not only attracted Indian retailers but the international retailers and brands as well, searching and seeking quality manufacturers from the Asian region.
In all around 3,000 buying delegates from all leading bricks-and-mortar retail chain stores, e-commerce platforms and national and international brands interacted with the exhibitors and placed orders. Many among them were the representatives of retailers and brands sourcing for western markets.
The confidence built among the fashion retailers at the ASW ’19 edition and the work that has gone into making ASW a recognised sourcing platform for all is now attracting larger number of retailers and fashion brands from all over the world, who are adding ASW ’20 to their travel itinerary to make best use of the platform to source apparel in line with already established events like HKFW, Hong Kong and Magic, USA.
In addition, for a full package experience, ASW 2020 has a surprise for its visitors and exhibitors!
Responding to the many request that the ASW team received at the last edition of the show, the upcoming show in February 2020 will have a designated hall for Fabric and Accessories. The thrust is to showcase innovations and align with companies that have something unique to present to the fashion value chain. Every garment is exclusive not only because of its silhouettes but also because of its newness in fabrics and accessories. The new segment of the show is aimed at addressing this need.

This addition will allow the manufacturers and retailers to witness the latest collection of fashion fabric and accessories available for next season’s developments.

Around 50 Fibre, Fabric and Accessory manufacturers/suppliers will display their offerings in a creative environment, allowing for discussions and future partnership opportunities.
