ASW 2024: Connecting Middle East Fashion Retailers To Asian Apparel Factories

29 July 2024

Even as many major fashion markets worldwide face headwinds, the Middle East stands out as a rare exception.

The apparel market in the GCC is expected to reach a total revenue of US $ 35.78 billion by the end of 2024, out of which Saudi Arabia will have the most share of US $ 17.41 billion, followed by UAE with US $ 10 billion.

Consumers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia spend around 73% and 57% of their fashion budgets on global or international styles.

This opens new opportunities for the apparel exporters looking at expanding their presence in the region. Markedly, the collective apparel import of GCC stood approximately at US $ 10 billion in 2023, 20% of which (~ US $ 2 billion) came from India.

Apparel Sourcing Week 2024 will have a strong presence of apparel brands and retailers operating in GCC which are looking at Asian countries like India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia amongst others as the primary destinations for their sourcing requirements.

We have a delegation from GCC, including companies like Apparel Group, Landmark Group, Namshi (Noon Group), FanMania, Lulu Group and many more, joining us at ASW 2024.
