THE FUTURE OF FASHION RETAIL IN INDIA- Challenges & Opportunities: ASW`s 2nd panel discussion on Day-1

Growing at 5.5% (Y-o-Y) Indian apparel market is expected to touch 7.7% soon. The second largest contributor in retail, after ‘food & grocery’, fast growing economy, increasing disposable income, inclination towards branded apparel, entry of international players, implication of unified taxation under GST are amongst some of the factors pegged to be the growth drivers of the apparel retail industry.
Even as the growth opportunities and retail boom has drawn in brands and retailers from across the globe to make the most of soon to be US $ 115 billion Indian fashion retail market, there are still some challenges to negotiate and one that none can afford to overlook is that of consumer behaviour. The Indian consumer is value conscious, who seeks quality and design at best price; besides there are demographic-based preferences withrespect to styles, colours and price points.
The second panel discussion-THE FUTURE OF FASHION RETAIL IN INDIAChallenges & Opportunities on Day-1 of Apparel Sourcing Week (ASW) 2019 will dwell exhaustively on the Indian fashion retail landscape. To be held between 12:40 pm – 13:35 pm, this session will have experts of Indian retail talking about the challenges and opportunities in fashion retail, as also product categories that are growth segments, consumer demographics and changing preferences that are/will influence Indian retail.
