ASW 2022 kick-starts tomorrow

The two-day Apparel Sourcing Week (ASW) 2022 is all set to kick-start tomorrow and the excitement is at its peak.

The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India, Muhammad Imran; President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Faruque Hassan, and many other prominent names from India and Bangladesh garment and retail industry will be present to officially launch the two-day sourcing extravaganza on the morning of 1st July 2022 at Hotel Sheraton Grand Whitefield, Bengaluru.

As the curtain raises, get set for a pleasant surprise as the 100-plus top-of-the line garment makers from across the manufacturing strongholds of Asia showcase their wide and exciting range of product ensemble for the benefit of the 5K representatives of global and Indian brands and retailers, congregated at the garden city of Bengaluru, to choose their preferred suppliers.

There are also 50 fabric and accessory suppliers with their equally interesting product baskets at the second edition of ASW.

The first day even promises an electrifying range of Panel Discussions, Bridging Talks and Ideative Sessions.

The first panel discussion revolves around the topic, Reinventing Physical Retail, which will have names like Sanjay Vakhariya (CEO, Spykar Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd.), Ram Agarwal (CMD, V2 Retail), Berry Singh (Co-founder and COO, Ace Turtle), Gurviderjit Samra (Chief Business Officer, Tata Cliq) sharing their thoughts and discussing it out with the other panellists on this important issue.

Next in line is bridging talk on Building Trust With Suppliers to be conducted by Neetu Jotwani, SVP, Myntra; followed by another very exciting bridging talk, Pathway to Sourcing Right, to be conducted by Suparna Malhotra, VP of Newtimes Group of Companies.

Post-lunch, things are going to get a little more hectic on the knowledge sharing front even as exhibitors and brands and buyers get busy with business as usual.

Between 12:30-1:30 pm, it will be time for the second panel discussion, Fashion Innovation using AI followed by another panel discussion on a topic, which is considered the future in fashion - Upcycling-The New Frontier for Sustainability.

Next comes the ideative session, Metaverse: Digital Fashion Opportunities, to be conducted by Sunil Arora, the Co-founder of Trace Labs while the likes of Arjun Puri (Director, KAS Group Asia), Gunish Jain (CEO, Blue Kaktus), Neetu Jotwani, Suparna Malhotra will be there to answer all your queries on the hot topic of Sourcing in the Times of Industry 4.0.

The knowledge sharing session of Day-1 will end with the last ideative session on Émerging Destination for Textile and Apparel in West Africa to be conducted by Vikas Budhiraja, the VP-Marketing of Arise.

Day-2 also sounds as promising as Day-1 for the stakeholders with sessions like Mitigating Risks in Sourcing, which is all about ‘Whys’ and ‘Hows’ of Supply Chain Risk Management; Complement And Collaborate - Synergies Between India And Bangladesh, highlighting how larger cooperation could bridge the trade gap in textiles between India and Bangladesh while also putting up a regional front by complementing and leveraging one another’s strength; not to speak of panel discussion titled - D2C Opportunities For Fashion along with exciting fireside chats and ideative sessions.
