Denim - a product to watch out for in the 2nd edition of Apparel Sourcing Week

The 15 reputed denim manufacturers which include names of the best among big ones such as Pacific Jeans, Mahmud Group, Armana Group, Khantex Fashions Ltd., Misami Apparels, Laila Styles, Standard Group, Blue Bay Asia – all from Bangladesh; Trigger Apparels, KG Fabriks, and Golden Seams among others from India; and Busana Apparel Group from Indonesia have already come on-board to showcase their prowess and to make the best out of this one-of-its-kind sourcing platform – Apparel Sourcing Week – in order to explore the existing and emerging prospects in the vibrant and exciting global denim market.

The global market for denim jeans is projected to reach US $ 76.10 billion by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 4.80 per cent. India at the same time is keeping pace with global trends in its denim market. Standing at a mere US $ 3.68 billion in 2019, the youth-driven Indian denim market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.7 per cent to touch US $ 10.82 billion by 2026.

The growth is obvious as denim has always been the king of casual wardrobe and now it has also proved to be a key product for consumers to wear in offices as well.

Among the propelling growth factors in the global market for denim jeans, rising number of women joining workforce, rapid rate of urbanisation, westernisation of lifestyles in emerging economies and rising fashion consciousness are contributing the most.

All these factors are encouraging fashion retailers to focus on expanding their denim portfolio, innovating denim product lines with different fibre blends and washes, and putting sustainability at the heart of their denim business.

And, that’s why we have ensured a glorious representation of denim manufacturing at ASW ’22.

As denim is one of the 10 product categories that will be presented by renowned apparel factories hailing from South Asian region, the newness in denim products and innovation coupled with sustainability is guaranteed in the show that’s scheduled to happen on 1-2 July 2022 at Sheraton Grand, Bengaluru (India).

“We create a lot of value by innovating newer trends, sustainable finishing processes and fabric development which helps in customer acquisition,” commented Syed Md Tanvir, Managing Director, Pacific Jeans, Chittagong (Bangladesh), a US $ 500 million company specialising in denim jeans and one of the key participants in the 2nd edition of ASW.

Similarly, N Rajagopal, CEO, Trigger Apparels Ltd., Coimbatore (India) stated that denim is doing exceptionally well in the youth-driven consumer market and India is leading this growth. “We focus on trendy products by keeping all segments of Indian consumers in mind,” said Rajagopal.

Sandeep Golam, Group Operations Director, Armana Group, Dhaka (Bangladesh), averred, “Looking forward to meet new clients and entertain my old ones in the 2nd edition of this great show. In last edition, I met teams from Bestseller, Celio and many more. The show gave equal emphasis on educating the industry through many well-attended panel discussions, workshops and open house forums by industry experts.”

With a lot of promise for denim exhibitors, the show keeps on adding more promising denim firms, the names of which shall be announced soon. As we prepare interesting denim industry’s facts and figures for you, register yourselves to be a part of this ‘Denim Extravaganza’ that is just around the corner.
