4 Vendor Sessions at ASW 2020 facilitate buyer-supplier understanding

Understanding what a fashion buyer wants is one of the most critical factors to succeed in global fashion business. The importance is accentuated by the fact that the dynamics of the business is changing very fast and manufacturers are always on the lookout for opportunities to meet and understand what retailers/brands are looking for in a preferred supplier. ASW 2020 will facilitate buyer-seller interaction with Vendor Sessions, conducted by Sourcing Heads of top companies in the business.
The enormous success of the 2 vendor sessions in the last edition by Reliance and Myntra has motivated the ASW team to host 4 such sessions for the upcoming edition in February 2020. Each of the companies that will hold the vendor session represent different markets and different set of customers.

Recognised as one of the largest South American department stores, Falabella’s Country Manager for India and Bangladesh, Alpana Razdan will address this session talking about the retailer and its sourcing strategy. Falabella is a Chilean multinational company operating its flagship Falabella department stores which comprise around 111 branded as Falabella, 251 home improvement stores called Sodimac and 129 supermarkets branded as Tottus. In all, Falabella has over 496 stores across seven countries in South America. Its online sales touched US $ 823 million over the last twelve months.

The sourcing giant will be represented by Arjun Puri – Director KAS Group Asia, responsible for global sourcing across both Kmart Australia and Target Australia. Kmart Australia and Target Australia are amongst Australia’s largest and fastest growing retailers that provide great value, on-trend products across apparel and general merchandise. With strong commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing, the company provides a full suite of procurement services from sourcing, merchandising, packaging, to quality assurance, quality control and international supply chain, sourcing over US $ 1.5 billion worth of shipments annually. The division has over 400 team members located across Asia, including offices in China (Shanghai and Dongguan), Hong Kong, Bangladesh, India and Indonesia.

Conducting the session will be Deepak Ahuja - Sr. Vice President - Sourcing and QA of Max Fashions India. Landmark Group is the largest retail group of UAE and Max is the value retail segment of the group. Launched in 2004, the brand is known for ‘Everyday Fashion’ and its ability to offer discerning shoppers a vast range of choices at affordable prices, international styling and great quality. Max strives to bring its customers value fashion which are designed in-house and manufactured under stringent quality standards. It operates 524 stores in 19 countries.

Apparel Sourcing Week 2023, a two-days Sourcing Show not only provides the Asian manufacturers a platform to showcase their products & manufacturing capabilities to the Brands & Retailers from all over the world including India, but also extends them a chance to attend the multiple seminars (headed by industry experts), workshops, open-house discussions and networking opportunities organised during these three days, which would help the manufacturers get a better understanding of Indian and International Retail and evolving dynamics of sourcing in various markets and retail formats.
